Children in Lebanon Are in Crisis - You Can Help

Renewed hostilities across Lebanon are putting children at growing risk. Since early March, intense airstrikes and displacement warnings have forced families to flee once again, compounding years of economic collapse, poverty and instability. Children’s safety, wellbeing and access to basic services are under increasing threat.

As of 5 March 2026, more than 83,000 people, including 29,000 children, have been displaced since the latest escalation began. Families are being pushed closer to the brink as essential services come under strain and already vulnerable children bear the heaviest burden.

Even before this escalation, children in Lebanon were growing up amid overlapping crises, weakened public services, food insecurity and rising poverty. Renewed violence is intensifying these risks, leaving children without the protection, care and stability they urgently need.

UNICEF is on the ground, adapting its emergency response to meet rapidly changing needs and advocating for the unconditional protection of all children, no matter who they are or where they live.

UNICEF is delivering urgent support, including:
- Psychological first aid and mental health support for children affected by conflict
- Safe water, hygiene kits, nutrition and essential healthcare
- Child protection services for displaced and at‑risk children
- Support to overstretched health and community services

All donations help, big or small, one‑off or regular.
But regular giving provides the most reliable, long‑term support, helping UNICEF continue to protect and care for children as this crisis evolves.
