Syria and Türkiye Earthquake: One Year On
チャリティ活動名 Australian Committee For UNICEF LimitedIt has been more than one year since a series of devastating earthquakes impacted the lives of millions of children and their families in Syria and Türkiye.
On 6 February 2023, millions were displaced as homes, livelihoods and essential services, including access to safe water, health care and education, were reduced to rubble.
In the aftermath of the earthquakes, children in both countries have experienced unimaginable loss and grief. With so much death, destruction, and loss, they are still experiencing psychological problems including anxiety, depression, and fear.
Thanks to the incredible support of our donors, UNICEF has strengthened our ongoing presence in Syria and Türkiye following the earthquakes, working alongside our partners to provide humanitarian assistance to children and families in need.
In 2023, UNICEF reached 5.6 million people affected by the earthquakes in Syria, including 3.2 million children. In Türkiye, UNICEF reached 4.7 million people, including 2.4 million children, with lifesaving services and support in 2023.
Please continue to support children affected by this disaster.

How will my donation help children impacted by the Earthquake in Syria and Turkiye (Turkey)?
UNICEF has been on the ground in Syria and Türkiye for more than 70 years. We are there for children before, during and after emergencies, ready to deliver urgent help where it is needed most. During this devastating time, we are working around the clock to protect the health and welfare of children.
$95 could provide an emergency shelter kit for two families, helping to protect children and keep them warm and safe.
$170 could provide two families with an emergency water and hygiene kit.
$271 could help provide a School in a Box to help 40 students continue their education in an emergency.
Please note: Should the funding gap for this emergency be filled, your generous gift will go to where the need is greatest.
