Urgent: Keep Gaza’s Children Warm This Winter
/ Australian Committee For UNICEF LimitedAfter two years of devastating conflict, children and families in Gaza are left with almost nothing, sheltering in tents, tarpaulins, or damaged buildings with no insulation or heating.
As winter approaches in the region, temperatures are beginning to fall. Immediate survival needs are critical - families urgently require shelter, blankets, warm clothing, nutrition, safe drinking water, and medical care. Without these essentials, the risk of hypothermia, disease, and child mortality will rise sharply.
UNICEF’S URGENT RESPONSE:
While the ceasefire could bring a much-needed pause to the violence, the humanitarian crisis is far from over. UNICEF is urgently scaling up its emergency response to protect children from the cold and meet their most urgent needs.
During the ceasefire, one of our aims is to give every child under 10 a set of warm winter clothes and a pair of shoes, along with blankets and essential supplies for their families.
But funding is critically short, and we urgently need help from corporates and their employees to deliver this lifesaving aid at scale needed.
