That night, she was in bed after drawing a card for her mother when explosions shattered her home. Her mother, Alyona, rushed her to safety behind two walls before the balcony windows blew out from the blast. "I covered my head and ears with my hands because it was so loud and scary," Myroslava recalls. Eleven people were killed, and 50 others, including seven children, were injured in the attack.
